Initiative for Social Entrepreneurs (iSE), Women’s Enterprise & Community Hub - East Birmingham

iSE is a social enterprise development organisation working with deprived communities in East Birmingham. The Women’s Enterprise & Community Hub (WECH) in Sparkbrook, Birmingham offers business units and training rooms and supports women-led businesses, working closely with entrepreneurs from the Pakistani, Bangladeshi and refugee communities. WECH is working with Tyseley Energy Park to help engage and connect East Birmingham businesses with new/emerging markets.

The initiative for Social Enterprise (iSE) is a movement to grow the social economy by nurturing the social enterprise sector, fostering employment, regenerating communities, and creating a lasting social impact that inspires change.Our commitment to fostering social impact is at the core of everything we do.


Community Business Growth Hubs

This community led business support pilot project, funded by WMCA and working with Business Growth West Midlands and the region’s Race Equalities Taskforce, seeks to overcome the barriers to success faced by ethnic minority businesses and entrepreneurs and provide targeted business support to unlock their full growth potential and help grow the region’s economy.Our network of Community Business Growth Hubs is delivering a multi-sector business support offer to businesses in their local communities to help them to grow, including business information and advice, events and workshops and specialist support where required, supported by commercial partners.

All five hubs are run by organisations that have a strong track record of supporting diverse communities and connecting them with new opportunities.

The Venturefest Mobile Hubs are a series of short, dynamic events that bring together businesses and entrepreneurs with universities, and business support organisations to connect and collaborate.

Being supported locally by business, universities, science parks and business support organisations Venturefest provides entrepreneurs, investors and innovators the chance to meet, engage and exchange ideas for co-operation and collaboration, particularly in the fields of science and emerging technologies.Venturefest West Midlands will return for it's 10th year on 19 March 2025

The Venturefest Mobile Hubs are a new format brought to you by Venturefest West Midlands that target local ecosystems and focus on themes that align with our local partners.

The Mobile Hubs are a series of short, dynamic events that bring together businesses and entrepreneurs with universities, and business support organisations to connect and collaborate, and explore key themes around:

  • Entrepreneurship & innovation culture

  • Innovation & business support.

During the events, you will have the opportunity to connect with a wide range of exciting businesses, local partners, and business support organisations. You will also hear from panellists who will share their innovation journeys and offer advice on how businesses can secure investment and funding, work with specialist advisors, and create opportunities for collaboration.
